Grand Prix 07

The grandprix pics are up! I didn't really take much photos as my camera was a bit screwy and it kept saying it had no battery. Oh well, so the pictures aren't amazing, cause I'm not a photographer and the cars were too fast for me to take. So I took more videos than photos.

Anyway, the grand prix was ok. It was not fantastic and as exciting cause it wasn't the finals, and we weren't sitting at the grandstand, but aside from that, it was still cool all the same cause the engines were VERY loud! The cars were nice, and they were really very fast. Before you know it, they're gone. I counted how many seconds it took for the slowest car to go round the race track - 30 seconds!! The track is about 5000m, so its really fast! The fastest car which was the ferrari was way ahead of the last car, so he must have made it in 20 seconds or less. Pretty cool stuff.

But I have to say, the finals on tv was even more exciting. Firstly, cause you get to see the bigger picture, and secondly, cause there were quite a few crashes!! Haha, its quite sadistic, but Grand Prix's no fun if there aren't any accidents. I know you get what I mean! Quite a few cars crashed into the wall and were out, there was one car (Renault - Red Bull one I think) crashed into some other car ( I can't quite remember which), went over it, flipped in the air, lost his wheels and landed. Way cool! The driver was ok, so it was all goooood. =D

What I can't get over is that Ferrari always wins!! I guess its their forte, but still! Where's my BMW!! Oh well, but it came in 4th place, so I won't complain.
The other thing I can't get over is the medals they gave out. They're VERY UGLY! Haha, wonder who designed it!?!! Its exactly like those blind spot mirrors they put at the corners to help the drivers see pass them. Big, round and ugly, as you can see from the picture. Or maybe they look like satelite dishes. Don't know what the medal designers were thinking! I believe I could have done much better. =D

But then again, to each his own!
Aerial view of the whole track. It surrounds Albert Park.

They had many of these play stations! Don't you think the people inside look so cosy and cute?

Made of beer cans.

Carrera Cup 07.
Formula 3 07.

Formula 1 - I took soo long to get a picture of the Ferrari. It really takes skill to get a picture of it with a normal camera! Its so fast you have to calculate in your reaction time in pressing the camera, the camera's lag time and the speed of the car. Not fantastic but good enough. =D

Oh! there were plenty of girls as well! But I shy to take photo with them.
Cheers!

Liquor and Beer. A lesson learnt.

I know I haven't been posting for like 2 weeks or so but its just that my life isn't' all that interesting on the weekdays. Other than countless assignments and admin stuff, there's basically nothing much. Mid-sem exams are like in 2 weeks time man! That's damn fast, and I haven't even started studying!! Not good.

Oh well, lets see, about my weekends...normally they start in the late afternoons on Friday and last week was no exception. I went to meet my friends for dinner, then later, the whole gang of us went to a club cause it was somebody's birthday, and it was held there. Thats when I learnt my very first lesson about alcohol: NEVER ever EVER mix liquor and beer together. Disaster will ensue.

Anyway, silly me, not knowing my chemistry well enough, drank liquor then just one pint of beer, then my stomach started churning faster than a washing machine. I started burping (cause beer has a LOT of gas), and like before I knew it, I was in the club's toilet vomiting my guts out. I vomited 2 times!!! My friend send me home, and on the taxi ride home, we had to stop the taxi for a while also. Haha, all in all, a BIG lesson learnt. Will never do that again. Uh uh.

Anyway, alcoholic drinks are DIRT cheap here. Its like 5 bucks for a shot and 1-4 bucks for beer. Compared to coke and sprite, those are like 3 bucks. They tax more for junk food. Sigh, such money suckers. Bad for a junk food person like me. I've been snacking a LOT, and I mean really a LOT, and sometimes, I see my money flying away. Need to change my bad habits! Time for a diet adjustment. I'm cutting down on biscuits first, then chocolates.

Go Janice Go!

Really random pictures...

A wandering mind..

Remember I told you lectures were boring? Yeah..this is what I do to pass the time, and trying SUPER HARD to stay awake!

Everybody's been trying to remind me I'm a final year student and that I should be studying. But in actual fact, I belong out there under the sun. I'm not somebody that can be confined in a place, more so a room with four walls.

Oh well! but thats a student's life for you, so guess I should start gritting my teeth and pushing myself. Sigh.

For now, you guys can admire my doodling!

They're just curvy wurvy lines that mean nothing but a wandering mind. =D

A pretty flower.

Banana Flavoured Straw!

I don't know why my comments box doesn't seem to be working, so if ever you wanna leave comments, just leave it in the previous post..i'll see it! =)

Anyway, I've got nothing to blog about. Its a friday night, and nobody ask me out! So, I'm staying home. Sigh. I used to go out so often in Singapore with my friends. If not poly, would be night safari colleagues, if not would be church or some other friends out there somewhere.

Oh well! Since I'm home on a terrific night to go out, I shall blog about some cool stuff they have in the supermarts here! Actually, only one la.. I found this SUPER cool! Its a flavoured straw! meaning like if you have a chocolate/caramel/strawberry/banana flavoured straw, just dip it in milk and suck! It'll be flavoured milk! Awesome. Don't know whether they have it in Singapore, but i'll show you all the same!

This is the straw. We bought the banana flavoured one.

When you open the packet, its like a straw that has many many yellow beads inside!

As you can see its contained in the straw. So the milk would just go through and get flavoured!

Dump it in the milk...

and suck!!

See! When the plain milk enters the straw, it gets flavoured by the beads and it becomes banana flavoured milk! Nice eh! Plus, only the milk that you drink from the straw becomes banana flavoured. The rest of the milk in the cup just stays the same flavour. Cool huh!

One straw is just nice for one cup.
Blows my socks off!!
Can't believe i'm so excited over these kinda trivial stuff..haha..Cheap thrill.

F1 Grand Prix!

I'm going to the Grand Prix!! How cool is that! Though I've not watched a single race, I'm just going there to soak in the atmosphere, see the gorgeous cars, hear the roar of the engines (which always brings me to an all-time high), look at the bootiful girls, and have fun with my friends!

I was just thinking since I'm in melbourne, why not just spend the most of my time here! The price is steep for a poor student like me (85 bucks for general admission- public, 300-600 for Grandstand tickets!! The grands are for the rich and famous, and those absolutely addicted to racing), but its worth it! These are the times where you'll just pay once to experience it, have a blast, and remember it all your life as the day you went insane on the roar of the engines and the hype of the crowd. Once in a lifetime experience.

For now, you guys can just admire my tickets. Haha, I feel evil.
But no worries la, I heard Singapore's gonna hold F1 in a few years time so everybody will get a chance! My ticket's for sat, 17 march, so until then, just wait for the pics to come in!

Autumn's Approaching..

Its been colder the last few days. Last week, the temperature was in the mid 30s but this week, like today, its 21 degrees! Lowest 15, but its not the temperature that I'm bothered about, its the wind! Freakin' cold!

Its one thing out walking in the nice cool street and its another thing when you're carrying groceries and a gush of wind tries so hard to push you down, on top of feeling damn cold. Should really try it, its hard work! Think thats where all my fats went to cause Ive been eating a LOT, and I think I haven't gain weight, so its all gooood. I think its the equivalence of doing resistance training? The wind pushes you back, and you bend your head forward, squint your eyes (cause I don't wear glasses, and the sand keeps blowing everywhere), and really push yourself against the wind while trying to hold on to your groceries cause they're trying to fly off as well. Cool huh?

Oh well, enough about the weather, autumn's coming soon, but I'm looking forward to the weekends! The temperature will be back to the 30s again. Plus, I've got friends to go out with now!

The first week of school was really like shit, cause lectures are quite big, and going straight into 3rd year makes you stick out like a sore thumb, cause the people all have their cliques already. Its the usual hi and bye stuff and thats it! But thanks to Wayne's ex, I've got quite a few friends, met a few while walking, plus, Jen and his friends. So, I didn't feel like crap this weekend! Spend the whole of fridays and saturdays hanging out with these people! I'm feeling so much better here already.

Not as lonely as before, but school work stresses me out la. After so many months in the hot sun cleaning my beloved animals' poo, I'm forced back to the classroom to remember facts I don't quite remember studying in poly. So, have to catch up on quite a bit!

I really miss being out field, absorbing the sun, and seeing greenery. EVERYTIME in class, without fail, once my lecturer opens his mouth, I start to hallucinate him singing lullabys. Its damn soothing. Its like therapeutic remedy for insomniacs. I think it'll work. Maybe I should open a centre for insomniacs, and ask my lecturers to teach. Sure famous.

Anyway, some photos of melbourne. The clayton one was when I went to visit this friend at his place. He's studying in monash. The flinders street station one is in melbourne city, walkable distance from my house, like around 45-1 hour. oh. and did I tell you, I walk EVERYWHERE. So like 1 hour walk from my house is still near, I've walked further...and got lost. Flinders's is like one of the main train stops, looks pretty cool huh.

See the "Justice for David Hicks" thing, haha you definitely can't do that in Singapore! Its quite open here and there'll be many posters about anti-war stuff, iraq, marxism, capitalism..eye-opener. =)
